What is a RoomMate Cabin?
RoomMate is a free standing cabin, mounted on steel (Duragalv) skids, and delivered to the site of your choice for your personal use. Cabins fully comply with the NZ Building Code NZS 3604.
A cabin can easily accommodate a king or queen-sized bed. Of course cabins are not only suitable for sleep-outs and they offer many possibilities.
Actual size: 3.6m long x 2.4m wide x 2.7m high (external measure)
Construction:
- Steel base
- Timber frame with painted Shadowclad exterior
- Fully insulated (Batts in walls & ceilings, foil underfloor)
- Coloursteel roof
- Carpeted or polyurethaned ply floor (ask your franchisee)
- Fully lined with natural-look ply
- Aluminium joinery (windows and hinged door)
- Usually option of window side (left or right)
- PVC gutter and downpipe
- Covered deck (approx. 1800mm x 500mm)
Interior
- Own switchboard (comes complete with approved 12m lead with safety cut out unit)
- Full head height and door entry (same as most houses)
- Two double power points
- Smoke alarm
- Curtain rails (not curtains)
- Central ceiling light
- Lockable
